Which tray to choose
| Tray | Size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Orbita | Ø 23.5 cm · h 0.9 cm | coffee table, under a vase or an arrangement |
| Ellisse | 24 × 13.5 cm · h 1.6 cm | bedside table and console: glasses, jewellery, remotes |
| Linea | 22 × 15.7 cm · h 1.8 cm | hallway and desk, crisp corners |
| Colonnato | 23 × 16.1 cm · h 3.6 cm | bathroom vanity: perfumes and creams, with a fluted rim |
How to style a tray
Use three objects of different heights, one tall, one medium and one low, and leave some empty space: a tray should gather, not overflow. A small vase with a dried branch, an LED candle and a low object are enough. For the washbasin, also see the Terra oval tray from the matching bathroom set.
What size decorative tray to choose
On a coffee table, a 22–24 cm tray suits a top of 60–90 cm: it gathers a vase, an LED candle and a book and leaves free space around it. On a bedside table or a narrow console, choose an oval or rectangular shape that follows the edge of the furniture without overhanging. In the bathroom the rim height matters: Colonnato, 3.6 cm high, holds bottles and creams better; in the hallway, where keys and glasses land, the rectangular Linea keeps everything in order.
A tray for the holidays
In December a round tray such as Orbita becomes a small centrepiece: pine cones, dried fir or eucalyptus sprigs and two or three LED candles. For something taller on the dining table, see our modern centrepieces.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put candles on them?
LED candles only. PLA warps with heat, so no lit candles or hot objects.
Can they be used to serve food?
No. They are decorative objects: not intended for direct contact with food and not dishwasher safe.
Are they suitable for the bathroom?
Yes, for perfumes, creams and accessories. Dry them if they get wet and keep them away from heat sources above 50 °C.
How do I clean them?
With a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. No dishwasher and no abrasive cleaners.
What is the difference between a decorative tray and a catch-all tray?
A decorative tray is wider and lower and gathers several objects, even as a base for a vase or an arrangement. A catch-all is smaller, made for keys, coins and rings: see our catch-all trays.
