duedecimi is an Italian brand of design objects for the home: vases and accessories for the bathroom, kitchen and desk, 3D printed in Naples, one 0.2-millimetre layer at a time.

Form
One shape. Two letters. One object.
The monogram comes from the meeting of the two “d”s of duedecimi: together they draw a vase, the object where it all began.
Matter
Matter you can see and touch.
We use matte PLA (polylactic acid): a rigid, lightweight thermoplastic that we print one 0.2 mm layer at a time. The fine lines of the layers stay visible and give every surface a soft texture to the touch. The colours are neutral and muted (Desert Tan, Latte Brown, Ash Gray, Charcoal, Dark Green and more) and blend into the home without imposing themselves.

Made only when needed.
Every object is printed after your order: we keep no warehouse stock. We check it, finish it by hand and ship it within 3–5 working days, well protected in a cardboard box.

What is 3D printing and why do you use it?
It is a technique that builds the object by stacking very thin layers of melted material: in our case, 0.2 mm layers of PLA. It allows shapes that traditional moulds cannot make (spirals, fluting, openwork) and lets us produce only what is ordered, with no warehouse stock.
What are duedecimi objects made of?
Matte-finish PLA (polylactic acid): we use Bambu Lab PLA Matte filament. It is rigid, light and pleasant to the touch; it softens above 55–60 °C, which is why our objects are for indoor use only and must be kept away from heat sources above 50 °C. It is not intended for direct contact with food.
Can they be used outdoors?
No, they are designed for indoor use only. Direct sun and heat warp and fade PLA, so avoid terraces, sunny windowsills and heat sources.
Do the vases hold water?
The vases are designed for dried flowers, branches and pampas. A 3D printed object does not guarantee it will hold water over time: for fresh flowers, place a glass tube or a glass inside.
How do I clean them?
With a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp, or by hand with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use the dishwasher or abrasive products.
Where are they made and how long do they take to arrive?
We print, check and finish everything in Italy, in Naples. Every object is made after the order and shipped within 3–5 working days. Shipping is free in Italy over €59 and in Europe over €99.
Why is it called duedecimi?
duedecimi reads «due decimi», Italian for two tenths of a millimetre: 0.2 mm, the height of every layer we print. A 22 cm vase such as Piega is made of 1,100 stacked layers; a catch-all bowl such as Gondola of 344. The fine lines you see on the surface are exactly these layers. The name is written as one word, in lowercase.
Which printer do you use and how long does it take?
We print on a Bambu Lab P1S with a 0.4 mm nozzle, Bambu Lab PLA Matte filament and 0.2 mm layers, almost always as a single piece and without supports. Print times range from about 1 h 15 min for a Riga hook to about 19 hours for the Meandro XL desk organiser; a vase takes from about 2 to about 14 hours.
